Communications Engagement Lead - 3 LOD Ops Risk

We are looking for a Communications Engagement Lead to develop and deliver an engagement strategy, which builds operational risk management awareness, understanding and capability across the bank globally. The role works in conjunction with Operational Risk leadership, Group Communications, and business stakeholders to deliver a quarterly cycle of engagement which includes content focused on 'run the bank' and 'change the bank' Operational Risk activity and is targeted at key Operational Risk and Three Lines of Defence audience groups. The Engagement Lead will manage a range of channels to convey clear and compelling messages, and will gather audience and stakeholder feedback to measure the effectiveness of activity, making improvements as a result.

* Develops and maintains a rolling quarterly engagement approach which informs, engages and helps upskill key 3LOD, Operational Risk and other stakeholder groups around Operational Risk Management
* Defines and develops a channel strategy to deliver the quarterly engagement approach which uses a number of new and existing channels - including emails, videos, briefings and briefing packs, WebEx, Drumbeat news email, SharePoint, townhalls, cascades and events
* Delivers the channels, ensuring they comply with Operational Risk and HSBC branding standards. Manages delivery though external design agencies where appropriate.
* Builds a forward editorial plan, and agrees the key 'change the bank' and 'run the bank' themes and topics for each quarterly cycle with input from Operational Risk and Transformation team leadership members, and Group Communications
* Works with subject matter experts across Operational Risk and the NFR Transformation programmes to source, write and edit content - ensuring messaging is simple, non-technical and suitable for global audiences - with a clear 'what's in it for me…?' tailored to each audience segment
* Ensures content and messaging is aligned to other Operational Risk, Risk and Group Communications
* Puts in place and manages an effective sign-off process which ensures communications are accurate and comply with Group communication standards
* Oversees the effective cascade across teams and regions of communications by Heads of Operational Risk
* Builds and maintains relationships with Operational Risk Leadership, NFR Transformation leads, Engagement and Learning Team members, Group Communications and Operational Risk subject matter experts
* Manages and delivers ad-hoc communications and core business communications collateral out of the quarterly cycle when required
* Gathers audience and stakeholder feedback and measuring effectiveness and using it to improve and enhance future communications will be a critical part of the role.

Must have

Please note that we are not looking for Operational Risk SME's we need Communication SME's with Banking and some understanding of Ops risk. Copy writing is a key part of this role.


Must have communications and engagement experience developed in complex global organisations, Financial Services

* Strong relationship management skills - comfortable managing challening stakeholders with sometimes conflicting priorities

* Able to quickly adapt to changing priorities and emerging issues
* Culturally sensitive - experienced at developing communications suitable for global audiences
