Our client is a globally recognized player in the insurance industry. We are looking for an experienced risk manager with the relevant background to cover the operational risk topics relevant to this role. Start ASAP, min. 6M contract.
Governance and Policy Development
<

>Support the creation and continuous improvement of Group policy documents, standards, and guidance (e.g., Zurich Policy Manuals).
<
><
>Design and implement effective non-financial risk management processes aligned with regulatory and internal policy expectations.
<
><
>Provide subject-matter insight on emerging non-financial risks.
<
><
>Monitor regulatory changes and assess their potential impact.
<
><
>Risk Management Activities
<
><
>Assist in updating Group risk appetite and tolerance statements.
<
><
>Coordinate and challenge risk assessment activities (TRP and SAOR) with GTO and ensure follow-up on mitigation actions.
<
><
>Critically review control deficiencies and assess the quality of remediation plans.
<
><
>Conduct deep dives into operational events, root cause analyses, and targeted reviews.
<
><
>Engage in crisis management exercises and contribute to strengthening operational resilience across functions.
<
><
>Champion simplification initiatives in risk management and internal control frameworks.
<
><
>Facilitate training and awareness programs on non-financial risks and maintain tools to ensure usability and effectiveness.
<

>Risk Reporting
<
><
>Support the Group Risk Reporting Team in operational risk aspects of the Group Recovery Plan.
<
><
>Contribute to ORSA processes (scenario design, quantitative analysis, risk narrative).
<
><
>Collaborate with GTO and regional risk units on the quarterly risk reporting cycle, with a particular focus on strategic risk themes.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

>University degree in Risk Management, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
<

>Solid professional background in Risk Management, Internal Controls, Compliance, or Audit.

>Familiarity with Third Party Risk, Data Management, or Business Resilience is advantageous.
<
><
>Strong grasp of operational risk principles, regulatory frameworks, and mitigation strategies.
<
><
>Proven ability to work independently with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
<
><
>Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
<
><
>Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
