Our client, a leading international player in the financial sector with modern offices in the Basel area, is looking for a Junior Purchasing Officer 100%, in a temporary assignment for 6 months to start ASAP.

Processing of low-risk purchase requisitions, especially for purchases under preferred supplier agreements or for low-value items

>Providing procurement support through a central helpdesk function:
Monitoring and managing the shared mailbox
Handling basic inquiries and resolving standard issues
Escalating more complex cases to Sourcing Specialists or Purchasing Officers
<

>Maintaining and updating ERP data to ensure purchasing accuracy:
Reassignment of contracts or purchase orders (POs)
Updating requested delivery dates on POs
Mass closure of obsolete or fulfilled POs
Documenting and tracking standard processes to support continuous improvement
Supporting compliance with internal procurement policies and guidelines
Contributing to the enhancement of system usage and identifying opportunities for automation
Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient purchasing operations
International player in the financial sector
6 months contract with 50% home office
Required Qualifications and Skills:<

Basic understanding of procurement processes, particularly purchase requisitions and purchase orders
Strong service orientation and effective communication skills
Confident user of IT systems and digital tools
Solid written and spoken English and German skills (minimum B1 level) to handle German-language contracts and communication with German-speaking suppliers

>Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Experience with ERP systems and invoice processing tools (e.g. Oracle Fusion, SAP), particularly in purchase order management, contract reassignment, and data maintenance
Familiarity with handling low-risk and low-value purchases within the framework of preferred supplier agreements
